Dwelling Coverage by
California Fire Insurance
DWELLING POLICY for 1 - 4: 1
structure holding 1 to 4 units.
Coverage includes
Fire, Lightening, internal explosion, and smoke.
Our agency writes every policy with replacement cost
option.
Extended Coverage including windstorm, hail,
explosion, riot or civil commotion, aircraft, vehicles,
and volcanic eruption and Vandalism or Malicious
Mischief are very minimal charges which we add
automatically.
California Fire Insurance offers Actual
Cash Value coverage as default. But our agency always
chooses the Replacement Cost option which always
provides greater coverage.
If you have
at least 80% of the true cost of repair to your
property, then Replacement Cost Endorsement, will pay the cost to repair or replace your
dwelling, however, it will not pay any in excess of that
amount
Coverage A - Dwelling –
Covers damages to the main structure )s).
If there are other structures, we can add up to 10% of
Coverage A, to the additional structure.
Coverage B - Other Structures –
This is the additional coverage for separate structure
such as Garage or shed, storage, etc.
Coverage C
- Personal Property – Personal property
includes your personal belonging such as clothing, TV,
stereo, videos, shoes, etc.
The coverage is based on Cash Value, which means you will have less coverage than Replacement Cost.
Coverage D - Fair Rental Value – Up to 20% of
coverage A, can be assigned for Fair Rental Value.

Ordinance or Law
- Up to 10% of Fire Insurance coverage for Coverage A: Provides
coverage extra construction cost to bring the
construction up to code.
Inflation
Guard – Protects property owner with additional
cost of inflation; this is an automatic coverage for all
policies issued by our agency.
Plants, Shrubs and
Trees - Up to $250 of coverage; the coverage must be
added to the application.
Radios & TV Antennas, Awnings, Canopies & Signs -
Same as shrub and plant; this part can be added to the
policy for a fee.
Improvements, Alterations & Additions –This part of
coverage usually covers condo unit owners additional
improvement to the condo unit.
Deductibles - Every policy has a
deductible. The higher the deductible, the lower
the premium.
Earthquake Coverage
- Earthquake coverage is available to all
policyholders through California Earthquake Authority.
A separate application must be completed and sent to CFP
for processing., Additional premium will be
applied.
